Building a Culture of Prayer and Intercession for the Nations
Missions research has illustrated that much of the world and many of its peoples still live beyond the reach of the good news. Yet God appears to be accelerating a number of factors to address this. One of them is the emergence of missionary movements from Global South churches. Another is the groundswell of prayer for the nations that is taking place, around the world, in many forms and traditions. Given the diverse contexts in which such intercession is happening, there is an unprecedented opportunity for prayer movements to learn from one another.
Come and pray for the nations with the leadership team of Operation World (9:00am to noon) using perspectives, examples, and tools that they’ve discovered along the way! We hope they will help you build a culture of intercession in your own lives, families, parishes, and denominations. We will look at praying the news, praying with Scripture, using different types of prayer, and re-discovering joy in corporate prayer meetings.
After lunch (1:30 – 3:00 pm) we will celebrate the Holy Eucharist for Healing the Nations (EHN). As intercessors and missionaries, we will stand in the gap like God parents for an unreached people group to confront directly the stored up evil in its land and history.
This Eucharist will feature our prayers and supplications for an unreached people group of the Middle East as we continue to thank God for His past mercies and grace and seek continued healing and development of a people fully in His grip.
This session will demonstrate how any congregation can meaningfully support the on-going work of planting the Gospel in an unreached people group without ever actually being on site. Our God has no limits. Here is a link to the Eucharistic Healing of the Nations (EHN) resource.
Due to many offerings during the pre-conference times, we welcome participants to join us all day or for just the morning or afternoon sessions.
Register by emailing Lollie Twyman (Please indicate “Prayer Pre-conference” in the subject line.)
Wednesday Night Dinner at Ridgecrest: Our group will eat together on Wednesday night in the dining hall from 5:30-6:30 so we can get to know one another.
Note: Since this pre-conference starts Thursday morning, it may be necessary to add an extra night’s housing and additional meals to your Ridgecrest reservation.
